Anger Is A Contract To Stay In Turmoil

Anger is a Contract to Stay in Turmoil

"Observe when you're angry - anger is a loss of control over the situation. Anger is a contract you make with yourself to be in physical and mental and emotional turmoil until reality changes." - Naval Ravikant,
Description

This quote shows how anger actually makes us weaker, not stronger. When we get angry, we're basically making a deal with ourselves that says "I'm going to feel terrible and stressed out until the world becomes what I want it to be." But here's the problem - we can't control reality or other people. So we end up stuck feeling awful while waiting for things that might never change. Anger tricks us into thinking we're doing something powerful, but really we're just choosing to suffer until external circumstances improve. It's like being mad at the weather - you're only hurting yourself.
